Keratin Bond Extensions
For natural curls and waves, single-donor hair, installed one bond at a time.
Curl expert, Lia Tomlinson, specializes in single donor “K-tip” extensions. These are custom sourced for your natural texture, creating the ultimate choice for a seamless transformation – without compromising the integrity, beauty or feeling of your natural hair.
What Are Keratin Bond Extensions (K-tips)?
Keratin bond extensions (K-tips) are a highly customizable, strand-by-strand method designed for natural movement, softness and shape. These lightweight extensions blend seamlessly, and move just like your own hair.
What is Single Donor Hair?
Single donor hair is sourced from one individual, preserving the natural curl pattern, density, and integrity of the hair.
Mass-produced extensions blend multiple sources and undergo heavy processing that will never match the texture and movement of natural hair.
For curls, those differences matter: Natural curl patterns flow in harmony. The density feels balanced. The weight distribution is natural. Not just visually, but how they feel, move, respond to humidity and hold their shape.
Why This Matters for Textured Hair
Curls are not uniform – and they shouldn’t be. Single donor, natural texture hair allows:
- A curl pattern that behaves organically
- Even weight distribution without unnecessary bulkiness
- Strand-by-strand movement that mirrors your own hair
- Blending that doesn’t rely on excessive heat styling
Lia works with premium single donor hair because it supports longevity, integrity, versatility and seamless integration.
Why People Love K-Tips
K-tips are the premier option for a natural look with natural movement and versatility.
They blend quietly.
The bonds are small and discreet, allowing the hair to lay flat against the scalp without bulk or discomfort.
They move like your hair.
Lightweight, individual bonds allow the hair to move and feel like your own In ponytails, updos or down.
They’re custom by design.
Tailored to your density, texture, lifestyle, and goals.
They’re long-wearing
With the right care, they hold up well and stay comfortable.
Texture matched for real life.
This is especially important for curls and waves. When extensions aren’t truly texture matched you end up fighting them. Straightening them to blend over styling to match or watching the difference appear at the moment humidity hits.
They behave like your natural texture.
With natural texture hair, your extensions respond the way your own hair does. They curl together. They move together and they hold up in real life, even when the weather doesn’t cooperate.
Not sure if K-tips are right for you?
K-tips are our recommended method for textured hair, but we also offer other extension options, including sewn-in wefts. Text us and we’ll find you the right fit!
Curly and Wavy Hair, Finally Done Right
Curly extensions have been a frustrating unicorn for a long time. Most curly options get their texture from steam processing or perming. The curl will loosen overtime, react differently to styling and humidity, and the pattern never quite blends with your natural hair.
This is where single donor hair changes everything:
- We source real, natural curl patterns in a range of tones.
- This creates a true curl to curl blend that feels like your own in every environment.
- That means better movement, better consistency, and a more believable finish.
Curly hair deserves extensions that move and behave like real curls. During your consultation, we’ll evaluate your natural texture, lifestyle, and goals to design a custom blend that feels seamless and authentic.

K-tips stay beautiful when they are treated like the investment they are – with consistency, moisture, and thoughtful care.
- Use salon-quality, moisturizing products suited to your texture. Hydration keeps both your natural curls and your extension, soft, defined and cohesive.
- Be mindful around the bonds. Avoid heavy oils or conditioners directly at the keratin bonds. Focus moisture from mid lengths to end to maintain longevity and comfort.
- Detangle gently and regularly. Use your fingers first, then a flexible, detangling brush (like the tangle teezer) to prevent tangling at the root. A little daily attention makes a big difference.
- Protect your hair while you sleep and never go to bed wet. A loose pineapple, braid, bonnet, or your own trusted method helps keep the pattern intact and the bonds secure.
- Plan on maintenance check-ins. Your ideal schedule depends on your growth rate and routine. We’ll determine what makes sense for you so your extensions remain balanced and healthy.
Before you leave your installation appointment, you’ll receive simple realistic care instructions tailored to your texture and lifestyle.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are luxury keratin bond extensions?
K-tips are individual Keratin bonded strands that blend seamlessly with your natural hair. Lia uses premium, single donor, natural texture, hair for curls and waves, giving a flexible, natural look and feel.
What makes these “luxury?”
Luxury isn’t just in the hair – it’s in the experience and the result. Lia uses premium, single donor, natural textured hair for a true curl to curl match, then places each strand, intentionally to complement your natural density, shape, and how you actually wear your hair. The result is effortless movement, seamless blending and a look that’s been entirely curated to you. Not mass produced.
Are keratin bond extensions good for curly hair?
Absolutely – that’s one of the biggest reasons Lia specializes in this Method. Curly hair has long been difficult to source in a way that truly blends with natural curl patterns. By using single donor, natural texture hair, K-tips behaved like your own curls, creating movement and a match that feels authentic.
Unlike traditional wets or sowing methods, which can feel like a helmet or a blanket over the hair, Keratin bonds move freely, stranded by strand, just like your natural curls would. The result is fluid, natural, and effortlessly beautiful.
How does the hair sourcing process work?
We start with a consultation, then you put down a deposit. After that, we source hair based on your color and texture goals. Curly textures take longer to find, so we plan for that. Once we find strong options, we choose together and place the order. Then we schedule an install day.
How long does the appointment take?
Because K-tips are applied stranded by stranded with attention to detail, installation is a carefully crafted process. Depending on how much hair you’re adding, the curl texture and your desired finish, prep and installation can take 6 to 12 hours.
This isn’t a quick service – it’s an investment in precision, movement and a flawless, natural result. Think of it as a full day luxury experience where every strain is placed thoughtfully to complement your curls.
Can we reuse the hair?
Sometimes, yes.
Reusability depends largely on how the hair is cared for at home and how well it’s maintained throughout your day. Consistent detangling, proper product use and protection play a role in preserving the integrity of the Hair.
During removal, Lia takes great care and protects the Extensions that they have the best chance of being installed. However, because we work with natural texture, single donor hair each case is assessed individually.
If the hair remains in strong condition, we can absolutely discuss installation. If not, we’ll talk through the next step to maintain the quality and look you expect.
Our priority is always the integrity of your natural hair and the longevity of your investment.
Will this damage my hair?
Any extension method can cause issues if the hair isn’t a good candidate, if placement is incorrect, or if proper aftercare is neglected. K-tips specifically can potentially cause damage if they are too heavy, improperly placed, or not matched to your hair’s density and texture – which is why out of date extension methods often cause breakage. Thick bonds, clunky strands or oversized installations can pull on the hair, creating stress points and feeling unnatural.
K-tips, when applied correctly, are the least damaging method available – and that’s why Lia specializes in them. Using tiny, individually placed bonds and tailoring the placement to your hair’s natural density, she ensures that the Extensions distribute weight evenly and more naturally with your curls.
Combined with premium, single donor natural texture hair at this advanced method, supports your hair integrity, allowing you to enjoy added length, volume and full curl fullness without compromise. Proper at home care and regular maintenance check-in further protect your strands and help your extensions last beautifully.
In Short: Lia’s K tip method is designed to enhance your hair safely, elegantly and sustainably – giving you gorgeous curls with minimal stress on your natural hair.
Do you only do K-tips?
Lia specializes in KT extensions because the results are unmatched – especially for wavy or curly hair. The precision, movement and seamless curl to curl blend make them her method of choice for achieving natural, luxurious results.
That said, the Salon also offered sew-in wefts and other extension methods. During your consultation, we will recommend the approach that best suits your hair type, lifestyle, and goals. While K-tips are Lia’s passion, sometimes another method is the better option for a specific situation – and she will always guide you towards the solution that best suits your goals.
Can I color my extensions?
Yes, – Lia uses premium Slavic single donor Hair, which is completely unprocessed. That means it behaves just like your own hair and could be lightened, toned or colored safely.
One of the benefits of using Slavic hair is its natural variety and colors and tones, so it’s often possible to find a match that blends perfectly with your own hair without heavy chemical processing. During your consultation will review your color goals and determine the safest approach for a seamless natural result.
Where do you source your hair from?
Lia uses premium single donor hair, primarily sourced from Slavic donors, with options from other regions when appropriate. While no texture is inherently ”better” than another, what makes this hair special is that it’s ethically sourced, unprocessed and available in a wide variety of natural lengths, colors and curl patterns.
Each donor’s hair maintains its cuticle layer, its pattern and its integrity, which makes it ideal for curl to curl, matching and long lasting results.
How long do K-tips last?
With proper care, K-tips can stay beautiful for 3-6 months. The longevity depends on your natural hair growth, curl pattern and maintenance routine. Single donor, natural texture, hair maintains integrity longer than processed options and schedule check-in helps ensure your extensions continue to look seamless and healthy.
Can I swim, shower or style my hair normally?
Yes – K-tips move and behave just like your natural hair. You can swim, shower and style as usual, though some precautions help maintain curl definition and bonded longevity: avoid sleeping, wet, use curl, friendly products and protect your hair during prolonged exposure to chlorinated or salt water. Your hair will retain its natural bounce and movement with consistent care.
Will the extensions damage my natural curls?
When installed and maintained properly, K-tips are the least damaging extension method available, especially for textured hair. The tiny, individually placed bonds are designed to match your hair’s density and movement, distributing it evenly and allowing natural curls to flourish. Proper at home care and regular maintenance check-in help minimize stress and keep both your hair and extensions healthy
Can I style the extensions like my natural hair?
Absolutely. K-tips move with your hair, allowing you to:
- Diffuse, curl or air dry with your natural pattern
- Wear ponytails, braids and updos
- Use heat silently carefully on mid links to end
Because your extensions are matched to your curl pattern and the texture styles will behave like your own hair – without feeling stiff or bulky.
How much do K-tips cost?
Pricing depends on the amount of hair, texture and customization required. Because every installation is tailored to your curls, density and color, the exact cost is determined during your consultation. Think of it as an investment in hair that moves naturally, blends seamlessly and looks beautiful.
Can I get K-tips if I have very short or fine hair?
Possibly, but it depends on your hair density, health and growth pattern during your consultation. We assess suitability and discuss the best method to achieve your desired look without compromising your natural hair. In some cases, alternative methods may better support your goals while protecting your curls.
